Service Notice – June 2025: The Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) CAP Service undergoes changes from time to time as the business of alerting evolves. For 2025, changes are expected to include... 1) ECCC's initiative to upgrade the presentation of alerts into Colour-Coded Weather Alerts is planned for deployment for later in 2025. Data changes will appear in CAP-CP upon this deployment, 2) SAME event codes for a few alert types are updated and 3) other minor improvements and corrections. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado is located 11 kilometres northwest of La Reine, moving east at 60 km/h. Hazard: Tornado, Toonie size hail and 90 km/h wind gusts. A cluster of severe thunderstorms is affecting the region. These thunderstorms are capable of producing the following: Hazard: Toonie size hail and 90 km/h wind gusts. A tornado is also possible. Locations impacted include: Groundhog River Waterway Provincial Park, Cochrane, Abitibi, Abitibi-De-Troyes Provincial Park, Hunta, Potter, Dunning, Mistango Lake, Kirke, Low Bush, Lake Abitibi / Lac Abitibi, Eades and Okikodosik Bay. ### This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Tornado warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing tornadoes.
Instruction
Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately. Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
