Description

Conditions are favourable for the development of squalls with wind gusts up to 35 knots, frequent lightning and hail. The potential for thunderstorm development will continue into this evening. ### Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. Description

Squalls with wind gusts up to 35 knots, frequent lightning and hail of 1 to 2 centimetres are expected or occurring in the area. Thunderstorms crossing Lake Erie are moving southeast at 20 knots. Wind gusts near 35 knots are possible with these thunderstorms. ### Large hail can damage vessels and cause injury. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. For more information monitor Canadian Coast Guard radio or Weatheradio stations.

Instruction

Vessels without lightning protection should make their way to shore immediately. Mariners are advised to prepare for squalls. If underway, seek safe harbour immediately. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Consider delaying or postponing travel in areas under the squall warning.

Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail. What: Wind gusts of 90 km/h. Hail up to 3 cm. When: Continuing this evening. Additional information: Isolated thunderstorms are expected over the area. These thunderstorms are expected to move east of the area later this evening. ### Local utility outages are possible. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
