For 2025, changes are expected to include... 1) ECCC's initiative to upgrade the presentation of alerts into Colour-Coded Weather Alerts is planned for deployment for later in 2025. Data changes will appear in CAP-CP upon this deployment, 2) SAME event codes for a few alert types are updated and 3) other minor improvements and corrections. Description
Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail. What: Wind gusts of 90 km/h. Hail up to 3 cm. When: Continuing this evening. Additional information: Thunderstorms over eastern Ontario may bring strong winds and hail to the area. These thunderstorms are expected to move east of the area late this evening. ### Local utility outages are possible. Strong wind gusts can damage trees, buildings and overturn vehicles. Large hail can cause significant damage and injury. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to ONstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on X using #QCStorm.
