* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Aguada, Aguadilla, Lares, Moca and San Sebastian. * WHEN...Until 430 PM AST. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 121 PM AST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Up to 0.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. Be extremely cautious particularly in areas close to Rio Culebrinas as streamflows continue elevated. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.

Impacts possible in some health system and in heat-sensitive industries. * WHERE...Urban and coastal areas of Puerto Rico, as well as the valleys of the eastern interior, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. * WHEN...Until 5 PM AST this afternoon. * IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Instruction

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
