Several days of heavy rainfall across portions of the I 10 corridor have saturated the soils through this area. Several rounds of widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop from Friday morning through Saturday afternoon. Between 4 and 6.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... New Iberia, Catahoula, Jeanerette, Loreauville, Lake Fausse Pointe and Lydia.
