Shelby County in eastern Texas... * Until 200 AM CDT. * At 1250 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Karnack to 9 miles southeast of Woodlawn to 6 miles northwest of Elysian Fields to near Beckville to near Minden, moving southeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include... Shreveport, Marshall, Henderson, Carthage, Center, Mansfield, Greenwood, Waskom, Stonewall, Logansport, Tatum, Tenaha, Timpson, Beckville, Joaquin, Converse, Deberry, Elysian Fields, Pinehill, and Shelbyville.

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. These storms are producing widespread wind damage. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows! Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

At 113 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Minden to near Sacul to near Rusk to 6 miles west of Maydelle. Movement was southeast at 60 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Lufkin, Nacogdoches, Rusk, Diboll, Milam, Hudson, Huntington, San Augustine, Alto, Hemphill, Garrison, Pineland, Wells, Browndell, Martinsville, Trawick, Pollok, Sacul, Macune, and Douglass.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service office in Shreveport. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 AM CDT for eastern and northeastern Texas.
