This, combined with very low RHs due to the ongoing heat wave, will make for increased risks for wildfire spread, especially during the afternoon and early evening hours on Monday and Tuesday. The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from 2 PM Monday to 8 PM PDT Tuesday. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 690 Kittitas Valley and 691 Lower Columbia Basin of Washington. * TIMING...From 2 PM Monday to 8 PM PDT Tuesday. * WINDS...West 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 12 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

A Red Flag Warning has also been issued from 3 PM to 9 PM PDT Tuesday. * Affected Area: Fire Weather Zone 705 Foothills of Central Washington Cascades (Zone 705) and Fire Weather Zone 706 Waterville Plateau (Zone 706). * Winds: West/Northwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * Relative Humidities: 15 to 25 percent. * Impacts: Risk of rapidly spreading fires.
