Service Notice – April 2025: The Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) CAP Service undergoes changes from time to time as the business of alerting evolves. For 2025, changes are expected to include... 1) ECCC's initiative to upgrade the presentation of alerts into Colour-Coded Weather Alerts is planned for deployment for later in 2025. Data changes will appear in CAP-CP upon this deployment, and 2) other minor improvements and corrections.
Description
What: Wet snow near the summit. When: This morning. Where: Okanagan Connector - Merritt to Kelowna, Highway 3 - Paulson Summit to Kootenay Pass, Coquihalla Highway - Hope to Merritt, Coquihalla Highway - Merritt to Kamloops and Highway 3 - Princeton via Allison Pass. Additional information: An upper disturbance passing through the B.C. interior is producing wet snow near the summit this morning. Snowfall accumulations will be minimal, from trace to 5 cm. Rising temperatures later today will melt away the snow. Please be prepared to adjust your driving as weather conditions at high elevations may change quickly. Slow down and maintain a safe following distance. ### Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions. Road conditions are available at https://www.drivebc.ca/. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@ec.gc.ca or post reports on X using #BCStorm.
