Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms are expected across the watch area tonight into Sunday morning. Very high rainfall rates of 2 inches or greater in a short time are possible, which could lead to flash flooding particularly in urban areas. In addition, with the potential for repeated rounds of storms, some locations could receive 2 to 4 inches of rain with locally higher amounts possible. With saturated soils from previous rainfall, these rainfall rates and rainfall amounts will lead to an increased risk for flash flooding.

At 612 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain have fallen, especially from near Lake Iowa to near Parnell from earlier storms, and also in northwest Keokuk County from near Gibson to Thornburg. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Marengo, Williamsburg, North English, Victor, What Cheer, Delta, Ladora, Parnell, Millersburg, Conroy, Thornburg, Gibson, Lake Iowa Park, Genoa Bluff, Iowa County Fairgrounds, Keokuk County Fairgrounds, Upper South Amana, South Amana, Coal Creek and West Amana. This includes Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 205 and 223. Old Mans Creek, Smith Creek, Coal Creek and the South English River.
